Priscilla Barroso isn't afraid of flying. The independent designer founded her label Crowned Bird last year, and has already started to build a sturdy nest in the fashion industry. Born and raised here in Big D, Barroso took flight early on with a scholarship to California’s prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Later, she honed her skills as a premier custom tailor in San Francisco. Most recently, we witnessed her spread her wings even wider as a contestant on NBC’s Fashion Star Season 2.

  With her Fall '13 collection, Barroso brought it all home, and we took over the Belmont neighborhood of East Dallas to shoot an exclusive preview for DFW Style Daily. These novel designs, seemingly threaded with nostalgia, incite memories of innocent mischief and youth.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Barroso continues to set her sights high, and fans can expect to see much more from this talented designer in coming months.
