Heather’s Diary: This Spring, I’m Not Playing Favorites

Dear Spring,

How do I love thee?

I love your warm, long days and cool, easy nights. And most of all, I love the fresh trends you bring. They mark the beginning of a new year for fashion, and set the tone for what will follow in fall. They’re utterly important.

They are also fleeting. Choosing the right trend to try can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Today, I decided to challenge myself. I narrowed this season’s trends down to the top six — black and white graphics, lightweight leather, print-mixing, pops of blue and army green, loose-fitting separates, and daytime pajamas – and I headed to Nordstrom. Navigating through both contemporary and designer lines, I picked out wearable pieces that can be mixed and matched and worn all season long.
