The Man Repeller Packs a Crowd at Neiman’s NorthPark

Leandra Medine, the popular fashion blogger known as The Man Repeller, brought quite a crowd to Neiman Marcus NorthPark Center this Wednesday night. Beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m., fans gathered in the second level CUSP department for their chance to meet Medine and see pieces from her collaboration with the trendy California line, Patterson J. Kincaid (PJK).     Known for her quirky style and humor, Medine kept the night fun with plenty of shared jokes and clever touches to compliment her personality. All the while, DJ Blake Ward was spinning.     Pedestal models wearing key items were styled with CUSP jewelry and Charlotte Olympia shoes for the event. In the character of the evening's hostess, every garment from the collection was labeled with a gauge on Medine's "Repel-O-Meter." A unicorn t-shirt, for example, warranted a code red. The meet-and-greet with Medine herself was a laid-back one. No lines were kept and spectators casually approached the blogger from all angles for small talk and autographs. Many girls requested signatures on their newly-acquired graphic tees and gift-with-purchase iPhone covers.     In addition to those casual printed tees, the collection included flirty cotton tops, silk pajama-style shorts, and open jackets. Prices ranged from $98 - $298. Medine explained that the collaboration with PJK has been a long time coming, and that the second shipment in the three-part series will be available next month. The final installment will hit in May. In the meantime, the collaboration can be purchased in stores or online from Neiman MarcusBloomingdale's, and online retailer Shopbop.     (All photos, credit Heather Lettieri for DFW Style Daily)
