Many changes are afoot at the Plaza at Preston Center (Preston Rd. at Northwest Highway, Dallas). Along with construction of the new University Park Library, pictured above, come store moves and debuts on the horizon. Today, we have several updates to share.
First, rounding the corner behind the new library, to the north of Tootsies, two brand-new boutiques will open soon.
LUBLU will feature the designs of SMU student-slash-Russian retailer Kira Plastinina. Earlier this month, we reported on the 20-year-old’s plans for a Dallas boutique, and local bloggers left and right are chomping at the bit for this debut. Though slated for a March opening, construction has not yet started on the LUBLU space.
Just next door, Aftershock London is set to open in mid-April. Marking the first U.S. location for this British women’s wear brand, the store will specialize in “affordable glamour.” To explore in advance, visit AftershockPLC.com.
In the relocation department, both Matthew Trent and Calypso St. Barth will soon settle into new homes at the Plaza. The former, a favorite local jewelry destination, will be moving to a space beside Aftershock London.
In addition, the now-separate Calypso Home and Calypso St. Barth stores are set to combine in one larger space next to Lucky Dog Barkery. Exact opening dates for both Matthew Trent and Calypso’s new doors are still pending, and original locations will remain open until the moves.
