‘Models of Confidence’ Show Will Benefit At-Risk Youth

On the evening of March 16th, Dallas not-for-profit group Dreams Do Come True, Inc. will host its third annual Models of Confidence fashion show fundraiser.   Founded by Executive Director Dontania Bradford in 2006, DDCT is a 501(c)(3) organization providing a range of services to area inner-city teens. Some homeless, and all in need of the guidance of a positive role model, Bradford’s kids receive basic necessities in addition to educational support. Grants, community funding, and volunteers make it all possible. Models of Confidence represents the group’s signature annual fundraising effort. Following ten weeks of workshops in the areas of life skills and the fashion industry, youth models will walk the runway in looks by Dillard’s, Men’s Wearhouse, and Charming Charlie. To students from area junior high and high schools, the program offers a taste of the glitz and glamour of the fashion world, as well as a chance to explore a new creative outlet. Highlighting 2013’s ‘A Night in Paris’ theme, this year’s show takes place on Saturday, March 16th, at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center (2901 Pennsylvania Ave., Dallas). Doors open at 5 p.m., and tickets start at just $5. A true community effort, the impact of this unique event will continue to be felt long after the final model walks the stage.
