Coming up on Wednesday, January 16th, Wade College and the Latino Cultural Center will host a one-night-only panel discussion with four Dallas-based Latino designers. This unique, insightful event will bring together Jim Duran, Nicolas Villalba, Isabel Varela, and Edgar Gómez to reveal their personal challenges and triumphs on the road to success.
Formerly a contributor to DFW Style Daily, Jim Duran launched his BLKLN menswear line in November 2012 in a standing-room-only event at the Ilume. Nicolas Villalba is a mainstay in the North Texas fashion scene, known for his stunning gown and costume designs. Media and local trendsetter praise for Isabel Varel’s IZAVEL collection culminated in the award of a grant and three-month Artist in Residence tenure at the Fairmont Dallas following the Pin Show 2012. And finally, Edgar Gómez is a newcomer to watch, having debuted his namesake line via stunning production in September 2012.
Moderated by local public relations pro Bri Mendoza Crum, ‘Latino Estilo Live’ kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16th, at the Latino Cultural Center (2600 Live Oak St., Dallas). Seating is limited and early RSVP’s are strongly encouraged. Click here for more information via Facebook, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
