Preview the IZAVEL Spring 2013 Collection

Isabel Varela’s career trajectory has been fascinating to follow. A study in the power of talent combined with dedication, this Dallas designer’s achievements continue to multiply with each passing season. We first met Varela during her partnership with Ashlee Brooks in early 2011. The young duo’s Varela + Brooks line took second place in that year’s Texas Next Top Designer competition, and soon after completed a successful showing at New Orleans Fashion Week. An amicable split followed, with Varela striking out on her own to establish IZAVEL. Clean lines and modern silhouettes hallmarked her solo designs, reflecting skills honed both stateside and in Paris at the École Duperré, École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués. Media and local trendsetter praise for the first IZAVEL collection culminated in the award of a grant and three-month Artist in Residence tenure at the Fairmont Dallas following the Pin Show 2012. Today, DFW Style Daily is proud to present an exclusive preview of the IZAVEL Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Describing the 20-piece range as “playfully sophisticated,” Varela combines her signature streamlined suiting and a fresh new color palette for the coming year. An original map-inspired print punctuates with graphic movement. A full viewing and trunk show will take place at Demerara Boutique in the West Village this Friday, November 16th, beginning at 3 p.m. For details, please visit our Event Calendar.
