Etiquette Vintage Designs Hits The Big Time In Playboy Magazine

This is exciting, and certainly a first.   Nothing thrills us more here at DFW Style Daily than seeing one of Dallas’ own designers achieve success.  With today’s news, Richard Eric Renteria is truly going where none of our discoveries has gone before.   In June, we introduced you to Renteria, founder of Etiquette Vintage Designs. Through an Exclusive Interview and Fashion Editorial Gallery, we explored the Amarillo native’s classic sportswear separates. Named for etiquette, the minutia of fine behavior, Renteria’s varsity cardigans, dresses, swimwear, and more, evoke American campus life in the ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s.     In other words, Etiquette Vintage Designs was a perfect choice for Playboy Magazine’s October 2012 College Issue. Contacted by stylist Jennifer Ryan Jones during his auditions for NBC’s Fashion Star, Renteria was asked to lend a few of his polished pieces for a feature on the how-to’s of tailgating like a gentleman. The resulting multi-page pictorial showcases his sweaters and blazers in several stunning vignettes.   Select photos are featured here, and even more can be viewed via Etiquette Vintage Designs on Facebook. The College Issue of Playboy is on newsstands now. Oh, and if you look really closely, you can also spot many items from Renteria’s enviable personal collection of vintage shoes and ties. (Note: If reviewing during work hours, minute examination of photos is at your own risk!)   Kudos to you, Eric, from all of us at DFW Style Daily!     (Playboy Magazine photos via Facebook.com/EtiquetteV; Photography by Tony Kelly, Fashion by Jennifer Ryan Jones)
