Topshop to Debut at Nordstrom, Come September
Following news earlier this week of Neiman Marcus and Target’s unprecedented partnership on an upcoming holiday collection, we learn via the New York Times of another unlikely retail pairing. Clothing and accessories from British fast fashion chain Topshop will bow in dedicated departments at 14 Nordstrom locations this September. With only three stand-alone Topshop stores in the U.S., this is a major “get” for Seattle-based Nordie’s, and the goods will include both regular and exclusive merchandise. “Fast fashion implies cheap, and that’s not what we’re after,” Pete E. Nordstrom told NYT. “…It’s about how we deliver credible new fashion to the customer.” Click here for the full story.

Project Runway Announces New Retail Partner
Finally, for its upcoming 10th season, premiering July 19th, Project Runway has switched retail partners yet again. Lord & Taylor will now step into the spotlight, sponsoring the oft-mentioned “accessory wall” and presenting the winner’s collection for sale at the conclusion of the competition. Following in the footsteps of Macy’s, Bluefly, and Piperlime, the switch to this mature department store chain, founded in 1826, is something of a head-scratcher. Not to mention, L&T has no locations in the state of Texas. Visit Fashionista for more on the news.
