Dita Von Teese Makes a Splash in Dallas

A gray, gloomy day gave way to a splashy sunset poolside soirée last Thursday evening, June 7th, at Ku De Ta in Dallas. We expected no less, given the occasion marked our city’s latest visit from International Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese. Again representing Cointreau as the liqueur’s Global Brand Ambassador, Dita drew a crowd of some 200 to the new local boîte.

Accompanied by synchronized swimming performers the Aqualillies, the lady of the hour styled herself in a vintage floral gown and jewels and (naturally) Christian Loubotin heels. The ensemble paired perfectly with the bathing beauties’ retro suits.

When last Dita passed through Big D on behalf of the orange-flavored sip, the crowd included a smattering of glammed-up burlesque performers and devotees. Likewise, this trip did not disappoint, and we spotted several darling dames and well-suited gents throughout the night.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that this event also served as a tribute to Dallas socialite Margarita Sames, originator of the drink of the same name back in 1948. Who knew our city’s fave patio cocktail was a vintage treasure in itself? Consider that your lesson for the day, kids, and by way of homework, shake yourself a tall, cool one this weekend.
