Y&I Opens With a Bang In The West Village

This Thursday evening, June 7th, under a veil of gloomy late spring rain, Uptown’s West Village shopping center got a dose of California sunshine. The grand opening of Y&I Boutique, co-hosted by Dallas Tibits, attracted many local style bloggers and fashion fans. However, most notable in the crowd of one hundred-plus were devotees of the now three-location mini-chain. Many in attendance expressed their excitement that Y&I has “finally” opened in Dallas, joining sister shops in San Francisco and Austin.

Draped in blue and green stripes, the store features wide range of affordable summer must-haves. Among maxi dresses of every possible shade and a plethora of pastel and neon separates, a concert tee or two can also be found. As for accessories, everything from eyewear to jewelry is represented. In overall feel, Y&I seems to be all about the trend, aimed at seekers of hot-right-now looks.

Owners Robyn Sribhen White and Robin Boesch, Big D natives both, worked the room at lightning speed during the party, stopping only briefly to announce a door prize or giveaway. Pinkberry treats, cocktails, and stylish bites provided by Baboush rounded out the evening’s offerings.

From the size of its growing following, Y&I has made a solid start. With “trend” being the name of the game for this shop, it’s an affordable stop for wearable, warm weather treats.
