In our latest Under The Radar Designer feature, we introduced you to Richard Eric Renteria. A native of Amarillo, this recent Dallas transplant now studies at the University of North Texas. The classic American spirit and style captured in his designs captivated us at first glance, inspiring the original photography to follow.

In our exclusive interview, Renteria described how his interest in the ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s informs his modern take on period-inspired looks. “I’m infatuated with how romantic the era seemed,” he explained. “Social etiquette was prevalent, and refined behavior was paramount. Men wore suits to baseball games, and women wore dresses to run errands.”

Named for the minutia of fine behavior – a gentleman’s handshake, a door opened for a lady – his Etiquette Vintage Designs evoke Ivy League campus life in days gone by. Noting the upcoming film release of The Great Gatsby, Renteria also predicts a wide-scale interest in such looks in months to come.

Today, we present our full fashion editorial featuring this designer discovery’s collection, photographed on location aboard a polished yacht on Lake Grapevine. Click here to read our interview with Richard Eric Renteria, and for more information on Etiquette Vintage Designs, visit
