Manolo Says What?
On the heels of last week’s big announcement that Manolo Blahnik will team with J. Crew in his first-ever high-low collaboration, the outspoken shoe designer revealed to Vogue UK that the news was, well, news to him. “I was recently contacted by J. Crew to do something with them, so I sent them over 45 pairs of shoes, and they announced we were doing a collaboration,” Blahnik said. “I had no idea about it!” Check out the confusing details here, via Racked. We’ll keep you posted on when – and if – the line will debut.
Jane Hearts Barneys
Dallas blogger Jane Aldridge models looks by the likes of Prabal Gurung and Stella McCartney for fashion photog Mario Sorrenti in the latest catalog from Barneys New York. Visit the retailer’s blog The Window for a very brief backgrounder on the Sea of Shoes siren, plus a (strangely solemn) behind-the-scenes video.
If You Launch It, They Will Come
Prepare for yet another H&M collab frenzy in Dallas. Yesterday, we confirmed that the fast fashion retailer’s NorthPark Center location will be among the select stores to stock its upcoming Marni capsule collection. The goods drop March 8th, and these amusing How To Shop tips will give you a good idea of what to expect on the big day.
The Pin Show Rocks The Fairmont
Finally, Thursday night’s return of The Pin Show at downtown’s Fairmont Hotel was a smash hit. Dallas’ premier independent designer showcase drew a sold-out crowd of fashion fans for a full-scale runway presentation of some three dozen local indie lines. With DFW Style Daily’s exclusive video to come next week, we’d like to take a moment today to congratulate Executive Producer Julie McCullough Kim, Executive Director Bryan Embry, Creative Director Mike Thompson, and all the participating designers on a job stylishly well done.
