Headline Round-Up

Wu For Target Debuts Sunday     CFDA Swarovski award-winner Jason Wu’s capsule collection for Target hits stores and the web this Sunday, February 5th. Last month, we filled you in on details of the line, which has the makings of a hit. If you’re looking to score some goods, we recommend clicking or visiting as early on launch day as possible.             And More Collabs To Come     Doo-Ri Chung for Macy’s bows February 15th, and Racked dubs the line “pleasantly affordable” and “totally wearable”. Indeed, a look through the doo.ri for Impulse preview reveals several items we’d happily add to our wardrobe. Next up, a 30-piece collection by Alberta Ferretti will hit stores on April 17th.             Millionairess On A Budget     Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, Stuart Weitzman’s “Million Dollar Shoe” returns - at a discount. Via WWD we learned that this year’s incarnation, named the “Millionairess”, swaps Swarovski crystals for diamonds, and carries a price tag of just $595. The strappy sandals are available as of this month at Stuart Weitzman boutiques.           The Show Mustn’t Go On     Finally, following up on last week’s news regarding KCD’s plan to present select Fashion Week shows exclusively online to editors and buyers, we learned via Styleite that Ralph Rucci (pictured here) has cancelled his upcoming FW runway presentation. Originally slated for February 12th, the show has been scrapped in favor of “private showroom appointments”. The move may – or may not – have something to do with money and a scheduling overlap with Tommy Hilfiger.   Both Celine and Emanuel Ungaro have opted out of Fashion Week shows as well, for varying reasons. Could this be the start of a movement away from expensive kowtowing to status-hungry celebs and bloggers, in favor of doing business with clients and the press? Just a question.     (Photo credits, from top: 1. Target.com, 2. Macys.com, 3. WWD.com, 4. SundanceChannel.com)
