‘Fashion On a Mission’ was the tagline at last Thursday’s grand opening event at Evol Society in the Shops at Park Lane.
Founder Samuel Bistrian designs and sells rain boots on a one-for-one basis right here in Dallas, through his company Roma Provisions. Its non-profit subsidiary, Roma For All, distributes boots to underpriviledged children living in cold, wet climates. Born of a need the entrepreneur experienced during his own childhood in Romania, the company is committed to helping kids break the cycle of poverty.
Within his first retail space, Bistrian has invited others with the same passion for social responsibility, as well as unique local designers, to feature their goods alongside his colorful, meaningful boots. These lines include WORN, UgaBeads, Love Nail, Tree, M Kenya Design, Collaborative World, Jo Clay-Two Clay Hands, Romanian Artist Dan Colcer, Mishky by Navia Duran, and Pearl Southern Couture – and the list is growing.
What’s more, when you shop at Evol Society, 10% of all proceeds will go towards aiding Romanian children get an education.
As the grand opening event concluded, Bistrian was preparing to leave on yet another boot drop in Romania. His sweet daughter informed us that she remembers visits to her Daddy’s homeland, and that she is glad that her parents help people in need. The new store’s logo, you’ll note, is a reflected spelling of “love”.
