With the much-anticipated return of The Pin Show on February 23rd, Dallas welcomes to the forefront 33 designers and four student designers, all showcasing their work before an audience of Dallas’ most influential fashion personalities. Our virtual meet-and-greet continues this week, with five more Pin Show designer profiles.

Marek+Richard by Neil Marek and Robbie Richard

 

Both Neil and Robbie are native Dallasites and graduates of UNT.

 

 

 

 

 

 

How would you describe your design aesthetic?

“Our aesthetic is bold and masculine, with an attention to detail. We like to mix textures and fabric weights to create clothing that has depth and personality.”

What is the inspiration behind your collection?

“The Combat Collection was inspired by a combination of several themes including vintage, military, and aspects of the American biker culture.”

 

 

 

Ashlee Brooks Collection by Ashlee Brooks

A graduate of Baylor University, Ashlee is originally from Rockwall, Texas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

How would you describe your design aesthetic?

“My design aesthetic would be best described as fashion forward and edgy, while remaining classic.”

What is the inspiration behind your collection?


“My inspiration is a dark, whimsical fairy tale.”

 

 

 

d.p.c. by Dora Yim

 

Born in Hong Kong, Dora, a BYU graduate, lived in New York for over 10 years. She relocated to Dallas in December of 2010.

 

 

 

 

 

How would you describe your design aesthetic?

“Dimensional, practical, and comfortable. Basically, my clothes fit different ages and body types, bringing out something different in each person who wears them. They are elegant and accentuate the best attributes of a woman’s body.”

What is the inspiration behind your collection?

“Everything around me [inspires me], but mainly the color, prints, and texture of the fabrics I use.”

Originally from Georgetown, Guyana, Dionne is a self-taught student of art and fashion.

“My design aesthetic is original and unique.”


What is the inspiration behind your collection?

“
I was inspired by art, and the vibrant color palette of the Caribbean”.

 

 

 

The House of MacGregor by Cassie MacGregor

 

Born in Dallas, Cassie is a milliner and a graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology.

 

 

 

 

 

 

How would you describe your design aesthetic?

“Old world skills for a modern hat.”

What is the inspiration behind your collection?

“I was inspired by the glamour and mystery of the 1930’s.
