Some 35 independent designers will showcase their collections at The Pin Show on February 23rd, 2012. Jump for all the details on this can’t-miss fashion event.
After a one-year break, popular independent designer showcase The Pin Show returns on February 23rd, 2012 to The Fairmont Dallas. Founded in 2007 by Rachel Nichelson and Julie McCullough Kim, the show initially ran for three consecutive years, providing a platform for up-and-coming designers, photographers, and stylists. Past shows have attracted audiences of 1500 or more.
With its return, the show is now helmed by original founder Kim and new Executive Director, Bryan Embry. Joining the team are Mike Thompson (Creative Consultant), Willie Johnson (Runway Director), Steven Wallace (Director of Photography and Film), and Ashlee Erickson Blakley (Director of Hair and Makeup). The event will be hosted by Hamilton Sneed of HAS Events and Lisa Petty of DFW Style Daily.
Earlier this week, Kim and Embry announced The Pin Show 2012’s designer lineup. Beginning in January, DFW Style Daily will introduce each of the 35 designers and their lines in turn, leading up to the big show. They include such popular local collections as The House of MacGregor, STATUS, and La Mère Couture, as well as new talent we look forward to profiling.
Also new this year, an Artist in Residency package has been awarded to one very talented local designer. Made possible through The Fairmont Dallas and the Ross Akard Gallery, this unprecedented opportunity includes a three-month residency with hotel suite and studio space, as well as a dedicated boutique within the Fairmont.
The recipient of this year’s Pin Show Artist in Residency is Isabel Varela. Formerly of Varela + Brooks, she will represent her individual line, IZAVEL, throughout the residency and at February’s show.
