Nancy Upton checks out new e-tailer Eloquii, offering on-trend styles in sizes 14 – 24.       Eloquii is a relatively new foray into the world of online fashion retail by the same folks who brought us The Limited.   Born of a request from fashion bloggers to CEO Linda Heasley, the e-commerce site carries exclusively sizes 14W – 24W. Simple, clean, and easy to navigate, Eloquii is designed to be a one-stop-shop for the fashionable plus size woman. In addition to on-trend clothing, accessories and jewelry are also available.

    Getting down to specifics, Eloquii approaches plus size fit in a thoughtful way. Often, when a manufacturer sells clothing items above a size 14, they simply create a larger version of existing styles. Still others make garments that are just shapeless and boring.   Eloquii, on the other hand, has specifically designed clothes to fit a woman's curves. Items are cut fuller in the hips and thighs, and additional length is added to hems and sleeves for easy tailoring. All garments are designed for a size 18, then adjusted larger or smaller. This is a refreshing switch from the usual "start at size zero and work your way up" approach.   Further, Eloquii recommends specific styles for shoppers based on body types, categorized by symbols such as an hourglass or a diamond. These categories are explained in a tutorial on the site.

    Speaking personally, when I shop online, I very rarely buy pants or jackets, because my body is such a unique shape. It's difficult to predict what size or cut I'll need, and returning items can be a hassle. Eloquii has eased this problem by offering both free shipping and free return shipping within 15 days.   I’ve highlighted a few of my favorite current items here. While the prices are already affordable (for the most part), I predict sales may also be on the horizon when Eloquii has been around a bit longer.   In conclusion, Eloquii seems like a great site for finding fashion-forward investment pieces in plus sizes.
