The Dallas designers will each host two-day trunk shows, starting Tuesday, December 6th in the Dallas Museum of Art’s museum shop.
Following a successful two-day event featuring the jewelry of Shona Gilbert last week, the Dallas Museum of Art continues its local fashion series with textile designer Elizabeth Anyaa and milliner Cassie MacGregor this Tuesday through Friday.
Showing Tuesday, December 6th and Wednesday, December 7th, Elizabeth Anyaa will present handmade scarves, clutches, and tops in the Dallas Museum of Art’s museum shop. A native of West Africa, Anyaa honed her craft in Finland, earning a degree in fine arts with an emphasis on textile design and manufacturing from The Rovaniemi Institute of Industrial Art. After moving to the U.S., she studied fashion design at El Centro College, and was later awarded top honors at Fashion Group International’s annual Career Day.
On Thursday, December 8th, and Friday, December 9th, Cassie MacGregor will close the museum’s series with a final two-day trunk show. Trained in millinery at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, MacGregor later created custom hats for Broadway productions and runway shows. She will present cocktail hats and headbands from her popular Oak Cliff-based House of MacGregor collection at the museum shop during this event.
