Nancy Upton: The DFW Style Daily Fashion Editorial

On Tuesday, October 18th, DFW Style Daily’s exclusive Q&A with Nancy Upton drew raves from our fashion-obsessed Dallas audience.

Today, prepare to indulge in a glamorous gallery of images from our first editorial shoot, starring the woman at the center of the American Apparel plus-sized model controversy.

Dallas actress Nancy Upton made waves across the country and around the world with her anti-entry into American Apparel’s “Next Big Thing” model search. Her revealing photos, lampooning the oft-embroiled retailer’s flippant phrasing and calling out its history of ignoring women with real curves, became a bona fide viral sensation.

After an overwhelming majority of votes ranked her number one in a field of 991 entries, American Apparel then denied Nancy the grand prize photo shoot and free clothes.

But our thinking here at DFW Style Daily went a little something like this: Who needs cheap spandex pants and legwarmers when you can shop at Tootsies, Stanley Korshak, Elements, Uptown Consignment, Intermix, and V.O.D.?

With that, our first official editorial fashion shoot was born. Enjoy the following eye candy, featuring the stunning Ms. Upton modeling luxe fall clothing, shoes, and jewelry from a selection of top Dallas retailers. Her handsome companion is model Adam G. with Wallflower Management.
