All Eyes on Elizabeth Anyaa

The Dallas-based textile and clothing designer’s latest collection was showcased at the Trinity River Audubon Center on Saturday, September 24th. Feast your eyes on DFW Style Daily’s gallery for the highlights.     Elizabeth Anyaa’s designs command attention from her studio’s picture window at South Side on Lamar. Structured and tactile, they beg for a touch, as the mind wonders at the skill involved in creating the intricate textiles at the heart of each garment.   A native of West Africa, Anyaa honed her craft in Finland, earning a degree in fine arts with an emphasis on textile design and manufacturing from The Rovaniemi Institute of Industrial Art. After moving to the U.S. in 1996, she studied fashion design at El Centro College in Dallas, and was later awarded top honors at Fashion Group International’s annual Career Day.   On Saturday, September 24th,  this accomplished artist’s work came to life on a runway at the beautiful Trinity River Audubon Center outside of downtown. Produced by Jan Strimple, the event showcased Anyaa’s weaving, felting, and dyeing techniques in outerwear, gowns, and separates.   We invite you to feast your eyes on our gallery of highlights from Elizabeth Anyaa’s show.
