‘Fashion for a Passion’ to Showcase Asian American Designers
|
Next Saturday, October 1st, marks the third-annual Fashion for a Passion event in Dallas.
Presented by Against the Grain Productions, this evening of original art, music, and design will benefit international orphanages and a student scholarship fund.
Seven emerging Asian American designers will show at this year’s Fashion for a Passion charity event. Including Texas’ Next Top Designer finalist Ann Hoang, Khanh Nguyen of Nhã Khanh, and Art Institue of Dallas grad Cac Lam of CacJudi, the runway roster promises a spectacular show.
In addition to viewing these independent designs, guests will also enjoy an art and photography exhibit, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, several live music performances, and a live auction. Proceeds will benefit Dallas-based non-profit Against the Grain Productions, dedicated to promoting Asian American cultural awareness.
ATG President and Founder Tammy Nguyen Lee explains, “Although the name of our event is ‘Fashion for a Passion’, the event itself is a wonderful platform for all Asian American talent. We are excited to showcase such a diversity of voices, and we hope that [these artists] continue to inspire others in our community.”
Fashion for a Passion 2011 will take place Saturday, October 1st, from 6:30 – 10 p.m. at Studios 1019 (2278 Monitor St., Dallas). Tickets start at $50, and can be purchased via web or at the door.
