Each week, DFW Style Daily reveals the fashion fixations of our city’s top trendsetters. Today, Cynthia Smoot, style blogger, reality show expert, and co-founder of Gangway Advertising, takes the challenge.
When she’s not rubbing elbows with our city’s ‘most eligible’, here’s what this sassy redhead can’t stop thinking about.
1. Chanel’s Denim-Inspired Nail Polish
Smoot, a.k.a. Oh So Cynthia, says blue is now officially a neutral shade. Her addiction to Chanel’s limited-edition nail colors ($29), released in honor of Fashion’s Night Out, has her snapping up as many bottles as she can before the collection’s September 30th expiration date. Snag one for yourself at Chanel in Highland Park Village.
2. Tribal Jewels by Amber Venz
She’s also loving local designer Amber Venz’s latest gypset-inspired baubles ($100 – $300). Elaborating on her fixation, Smoot explains, “Amber’s new jewelry collection is just super fun and playful. Even when I am dressed casually in a pair of jeans, I still love to wear great accessories.”
3. BaByliss’ Pro Nano Titanium Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron
“I had my hair cut last week at Green Peridot Salon, and Daniel Lewis used this flat iron to give me loose, wavy curls. The curls held perfectly for three days,” Smoot boasts of the secret behind her lovely locks. Shop BaByliss’ Pro Nano products at Green Peridot Salon (6959 Lebanon Rd., Frisco).
Like many trendsetters, Smoot can’t get enough of brightly-colored jeans this season. Her favorite labels currently include J. Brand and Rag & Bone. She says, “I live in jeans. Whether I am wearing them with a tee and cardigan on the football field with my son, or with a funky blouse and a pair of heels, denim is a staple on my wardrobe for fall.” Pictured here, pairs by Rag & Bone start at $155.
5. Chipotle cream sauce from BEE Restaurant
This new fast-casual spot in Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District (202 West Davis St., Dallas) gets its unique name from a phrase any foodie would love: Best Enchiladas Ever. Their spicy signature sauce is currently Smoot’s top culinary craving.
