5 Obsessions: An SMU Style Star Boots Up for Fall

Each week, DFW Style Daily reveals the fashion fixations of our city’s top trendsetters. Today, SMU student and fashion intern Danielle Gersh spills the beans. We couldn’t wait to find out how this stylish Cali-native plans to perfect her back-to-school wardrobe.

Read on for Gersh’s fall fashion addictions, including the boots, bags, and boho items she can’t live without.

1. Current/Elliott’s Leopard ‘Stiletto’

I am so obsessed with these leopard print skinnies by Current/Elliott,” Gersh notes of her new favorite jeans ($198). “I pair them with a white tee and sandals, or dress them up with platform pumps.” Snag an animal-printed pair for yourself from Nordstrom, and yep, that’s Mandy Moore pictured here sporting her Current/Elliotts while shopping in Los Angeles.

2. High-Low Hemlines

Gersh adores the asymmetrical hemlines she spotted on fall runways. Her most recent pick is a floral version by Millau from stylish boutique LF, which as luck would have it, is soon to open in Dallas’ West Village.

3. It’s a 10

Showing her strands some love, Gersh swears by ‘It’s a 10’ Miracle Leave-In treatment ($15). “I can’t live without it, and now my friends are hooked on it, too,” she says of her top tress-taming secret, available at Target.

4. Bags by FEED

Gersh’s FEED bag ($45 and up) travels everywhere with her, from Europe to class at SMU. We wholeheartedly approve of her choice, since FEED handbags support the FEED Foundation. Created by Ellen Gustafson and Lauren Bush, the non-profit company behind the bags uses proceeds from sales to provide meals for children in third-world countries.

5. Equestrian-Inspired Boots

An accomplished equestrian, Gersh comes by her love of luxe boots honestly. Her latest favorites include a tough pair by Fiorentini + Baker, and a relaxed suede pair by Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent (pictured, $343). Shop Gersh’s picks online via Madison Los Angeles and Planet Blue.
