Pearl Southern Couture Debuts Fall 2011 Collection
Dallas designer Amber Perley has just unveiled her latest looks under the Pearl Southern Couture label. Following recent collections inspired by Southern cities like Savannah and New Orleans, Fall 2011 is all about the Lone Star State.
In the interest of full disclosure, we here at DFW Style Daily must admit to having a bit of a “girl crush” on Amber Perley. Not only is the LSU grad lovely and talented, but her company Pearl Southern Couture is an admirable example of a thriving independent fashion business.
Launched in May 2008, Perley’s Dallas-made line features seasonal collections evoking the character of various cities throughout the American South. In the past, we’ve enjoyed feminine, easy-to-wear frocks inspired by Charleston, Nashville, and Savannah, just to name a few. In the past year, Perley has added casual skirts and tops to her dress-centered collections as well.
For Fall 2011, the designer tapped Texas as her muse. The resulting collection of eight dresses, five tops, three skirts, and a blazer (most under $200) is sophisticated and versatile. Says Perley, “I wanted to make sure that the collection appeals to all my customers, no matter their age or size.”
