Have you ever acted on
impulse?
It has been said that shopping is an art. While many retail expeditions net timeless, tasteful finds that earn places of honor in our permanent collections, others lean more toward
Dogs Playing Poker. Get our drift?
Starting today, DFW Style Daily will reveal the impulse purchases of some of our city's most stylish folks. Read on for the doozies that left these otherwise savvy shoppers wondering, "What was I thinking?"
1. Not-So-Super Heroes

Sean Charles of
SeanInTheCity confesses, "Comic tees are my kryptonite. However, once I put them on, I look 12 years old. I try so hard to be Batman, but I end up looking like Robin the Boy Wonder."
2. Green Isn't Always Good

Allison Edwards of
Where Wear in the City purchased this pair of green pumps by Pour La Victoire at Neiman Marcus Last Call and has worn them exactly once. She explains, "I had to have them because I loved the color so much, and I thought I could wear them with most basic outfits. Not true!"
3. The Mad Hatter

Finally, even a professional shopper falls for the occasional impulse. I happened upon this tiny vintage-inspired hat on a trip to San Diego, and envisioned it topping off a Dita Von Teese-style retro ensemble. That is, until I realized that I looked nothing like Dita and dangerously like Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland. Lesson learned.
