The much-anticipated first Texas location of
H&M will open at noon on August 18th at
NorthPark Center. Offers and giveaways are on tap for the big day, plus one lucky shopper will win early entry with an All Access Fashion Pass.
Talk about a waiting game. The arrival of Dallas' first H&M has been a long time coming, with a few patience-trying twists and turns along the way.
First, a temporary H&M pop-up
opened at NorthPark Center in the former Express space back in December of last year. Designed to build buzz in advance of the fast fashion retailer's permanent location, the small store featured a rotating selection of women's, men's, junior's, and children's clothing. Shoppers had only just become accustomed to the pop-up's monthly stock switcheroos when it shuttered, diverting attention to a wraparound H&M "Coming Soon" banner on the other side of the mall.
Folks have been tapping their feet in front of that banner (and pestering this reporter like eager tots on Christmas Eve) ever since. Today, DFW Style Daily is happy to report that the wait is finally over. Our 24,000 square foot, two-story, permanent H&M store will open at precisely noon on Thursday, August 18th.
According to a message we received from H&M's press department this morning, the store will feature trend pieces, updated basics, and accessories for both men and women, as well as a full children’s department. Excitement is also building around upcoming collaborations, including a
much-publicized capsule collection from Versace, set to debut in November.
Lines are sure to begin forming early in the morning on opening day. As an incentive to queue up, H&M will be giving away money-saving passes to the first 500 shoppers, worth anywhere from $10 to $500. Additional offers and giveaways are also planned, and one lucky shopper will earn the privilege of early entry into the store before it opens to the public.
Look for H&M near NorthPark's AMC theater, next door to LOFT (downstairs) and Urban Outfitters (upstairs). Store hours will be Monday - Saturday, from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. See you on the 18th!
